COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITYYour commitment to inclusive, barrier-free tourism for all in South Tyrol

Why this project?

Demographic change opens great opportunities for tourism: the older generation is becoming an increasingly important target group. This also means an increase in the number of travellers who have limited mobility or special needs due to age-related illnesses. These guests continue to consciously choose destinations that meet their expectations and preferences.

South Tyrol is committed to quality tourism and is sustainably tailoring its tourism offerings to the needs of families, senior citizens and guests with disabilities – and everyone benefits from this, both our holiday guests and the local population.

Those who react early and adapt to these changes will gain a clear competitive advantage!

Take the first step now: Fill out the standardised self-declaration on this page and publish the result as a ‘COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY’ on your homepage to provide your guests and customers with clear and reliable information about the accessibility of your business. The aim is to provide transparent, honest and consistent information – so that all your guests and customers know what to expect from you right from the start.

What is it about?

The ‘COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY’ project offers all businesses and service providers in South Tyrol the opportunity to create a standardised self-declaration regarding their accessibility. All you need to do is fill out the questionnaire provided. Based on the questionnaire, the system automatically generates a text in simple language, which you can publish on your website as a link or PDF file entitled ‘COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY’.

Download: All participating facilities can download the CTA quality symbol here and incorporated it on their homepage as a visible sign of their engagement for accessibility.

What are the benefits of participating?

With clear and reliable information, you give your guests and customers the opportunity to decide for themselves whether your accommodation or service is right for them. This reduces the risk of misunderstandings, dissatisfied guests and customers, or negative reviews – while increasing trust and satisfaction.

What does participation cost?

Participation is completely free of charge.

The ‘COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY’ project was developed as part of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and is funded by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - South Tyrol. The aim is to fulfil Olympic Guarantee 2.9 – accessibility of venues – and position South Tyrol as a showcase destination for inclusive tourism.

Do you already have your guests' and customers' needs in mind?

Fill out the questionnaire and find out!

Don't worry hardly any business meets all requirements. It's not perfection that counts, but honesty and transparency. Your customers want to know what they can expect from your business and what they might not.

Our tip:

Your accessibility information will then be automatically published on www.suedtirolfueralle.it and transmitted to www.suedtirol.info and other third-party providers via the LTS TicWeb interface.

Who can complete the questionnaire?

In principle, all businesses and establishments with a publicly accessible offering. These include, among others:

- Hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments
- Restaurants, bars and cafés
- Shops
- Tourist associations, museums, cultural and leisure facilities
- Ski schools, sports and adventure providers
- Wellness and health facilities
- Craftsmen
- Public offices and institutions
- etc.

In short:

every public and private business in South Tyrol can and should participate – because every piece of information helps and contributes to more transparent, inclusive tourism in South Tyrol.
