The Prettau Show Mine is located in the upper Ahrntal valley. During a tour of this regional museum, visitors travel by mine train through the 1,100-metre-long St. Ignaz adit, where cement copper is still mined today. In 2001, an asthma therapy centre was also set up in this adit.

The large museum car park is located around 300 metres from the entrance area. Visitors with a disabled parking permit can therefore drive up the access road to the ticket office (2 steps). A lifting platform is available if required to board the mine railway. At the mine railway’s terminus, visitors with walking difficulties transfer to a specially adapted wheelchair that can travel on rails into the exhibition galleries. With this aid, a good third of the exhibition mine can be visited (stations 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11). Stations 6 and 7, however, are 6 metres below the tunnel level and can only be reached via a steep staircase. The final stations (12–16) are only accessible via a very steep, gravel-surfaced tunnel entrance. There are two accessible toilets in the entrance area, and there is also an accessible toilet in the climate tunnel.

Notes: To board the mine railway, visitors with reduced mobility can use a lift, which is attached to the platform on request. The support staff and museum guides are on hand to assist visitors at all times. The side safety bars on the mine railway carriages are removed to allow boarding. At the underground terminus of the mine railway, visitors with walking difficulties transfer to a specially adapted wheelchair that can travel on rails into the exhibition galleries. This enables visitors with reduced mobility to explore a good third of the exhibition mine.
Notes: Once visitors have reached the underground mine on the mine railway and transferred to the specially adapted wheelchair – which can travel along the old tracks into the exhibition galleries – those with reduced mobility can explore a significant part of the exhibition mine (stations 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11). Stations 6 and 7 on the museum tour are six metres below the gallery level, on level 6, and are only accessible via a steep staircase. Stations 12 to 16 (the final station) are only accessible via a gallery entrance which has a very steep gradient and is covered in gravel.
