A warm welcome to the Hotel Sand! Not far from Naturns, in the wine-growing and fruit-growing region of the lower Vinschgau Valley, our hiking and cycling hotel in Tschars offers the ideal base for your excursions into the great outdoors. From March to November, walkers, families, cyclists and mountain bikers can look forward to an unforgettable holiday full of activity and enjoyment just outside Merano. Personally guided hotel walks, cycle tours, free bike hire, cultural tours and wine walks including tastings round off our range of activities. Those seeking relaxation can unwind in our 8,000 m² garden grounds or in the relaxation rooms, relax in the wellness area or treat themselves to a soothing massage. Our wellness area, with its panoramic views, features a Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna, a steam bath, an infrared cabin and three relaxation rooms. The spacious gardens, featuring a 25-metre sports pool (heated all year round), a saltwater pool and a large sunbathing lawn set amidst an orchard with old Vinschgau grape varieties and scattered fruit trees, invite you to relax and soak up the sun. Our renowned kitchen, with its Mediterranean influence, prepares fresh dishes daily using regional produce. Our menus are also a real treat for those with food allergies or those who prefer dietary cuisine. Our traditional parlours and the cosy dining room with its conservatory provide the perfect ambience. A particular highlight is our garden terrace, where you can enjoy breakfast al fresco and dinner in the garden during the summer months of June and July. Our wine cellar is stocked with fine wines. Mr Bernhart will be happy to recommend the perfect bottle for you. His wine-tasting sessions in the hotel’s own wine cellar are also a real highlight. Each of our rooms is a world of its own. Wood and fine fabrics transform our double rooms and suites into oases of well-being, offering the highest level of comfort – ideal for unwinding after an active day out in the Vinschgau countryside. Our ‘Süd Design’ junior suites are also something special – these are nature-inspired suites featuring a clay climate wall for heating and cooling, each with a bath positioned against the façade offering panoramic views over the garden and pool area.
