Construction of the Bressanone Cathedral began around 980 AD. Following a fire in 1174, it was rebuilt and expanded with three naves and two Romanesque bell towers. The cathedral was later completed in Gothic style, and in the 18th century, it was rebuilt to its current Baroque appearance. A significant attraction near the Bressanone Cathedral is the Romanesque-Gothic cloister with splendid frescoes dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Its square layout is noteworthy, with a small garden in the internal courtyard.

Rating: High

From the square in front, you can easily reach the main entrance to the Cathedral (6 cm threshold). Once inside the cathedral, there is sufficient room to maneuver, and the marble flooring does not pose any particular difficulties.
The Cloister can be accessed in two ways: the door to the right of the Cathedral entrance is accessible only via two steps, 20 cm and 12 cm high. Therefore, we recommend wheelchair users walk from Piazza Duomo towards Via Bruno, continue along Via Hartwig and Via S. Albuino (to number 2), where a second entrance with a 6 cm threshold allows access to the cloister without further difficulty.

Notes: From the square in front, you can easily reach the main entrance to the Cathedral (high threshold). Once inside, there's plenty of room to maneuver, and the marble flooring doesn't pose any particular difficulties.
